Leslie Kennedy, 54, loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away suddenly on November 8th at her home.
She was born in Gaston County on October 29, 1968 to Carolyn Kennedy Bowerman and the late Ted Kennedy.
Leslie was a graduate of East Gaston High School. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and anything Mickey Mouse. She was known as a free spirit, passionately loved her family, and lived every day to the fullest. Leslie greeted everyone with a hug and smile and will be truly missed by those that were fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of her love.
The family finds comfort in knowing that Leslie was welcomed into her heavenly home by her father who she longed for since his passing. She is at peace now surrounded by her grandparents Charles and Dorothy Bates, Robert and Alma Homesley, and Will Kennedy.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Joshua Willis Caswell (Bill), Brandon Fitzner (Andrea) and a very special daughter; grandson, Grayson Fitzner, Emma Phillips; parents Carolyn Kennedy Bowerman (David); sister Lisa Kennedy (Alyson), twin sister Lori Kennedy Bush (Rocky); nieces and nephews, Justin Hight, Hailey Bush, Alyssa Kennedy; long time loving partner, Michael Haney; stepmother Judy Kennedy; step-siblings, Karen Marr Baker (Gene), Alan Marr (Joyce); and many special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, remember Leslie by living your life to the fullest and greet those you love with a big smile and hug, because tomorrow is not promised.
